The classic G1 soundtrack was released exclusively on vinyl for the first time in 2018, and a new improved vinyl is also being released via Amazon in both regular and Deluxe versions.

Man, I'm super amped for this! Really want it! But I need to know that the main theme isn't that God awful mix that makes the vocals so grating on the ear drums. I mean, if the theme song was a person instead of a bit of music then what's been done to it would be considered no less than a hate crime. When the first vinyl came out, I remember being so excited to finally at least have a version of that music (even if it wasn't a format I could take with me on the go), but as soon as what I assume was originally meant to be soft accompaniment cut in, overpowering the other vocals, I was like a kid on Christmas discovering the box he just opened was actually a used Cologuard kit (you know the box you $%&# in and tells you whether or not you have cancer?). The mix used in the trailer for the recent theatrical screening of the first miniseries has it and that doesn't give me high hopes for this release overall.

I know I must seem weirdly worked up about it but it's such a weird thing! I mean, none of the sound mixers at least watched the intro itself? I know I'm not alone here. Y'all have noticed it too, right?

I'm very curious to find out... since the track list is already out; why did they go for the short versions of the songs?

I read a while ago that they decided to shorten the songs to be able to fit the LP. But I was kinda hoping the digital release would contain the longer versions (as they were intended).
Still, I'm happy to get it of course, but would have been even better if this would have been the longer songs. --> a missed opportunity!

100% with you on this. There's nothing Hasbro can say or do to convince me those are the original 80s vocals on the theme tune they've been using since the last vinyl release. Unfortunately I think we're stuck with it but boy do I hope we get the original recording remastered with untampered vocals at some point. And the S2/S3 themes.

I am not sure that is a surprise to me but maybe they want to release it at the same time as the G1 soundtrack
