I don’t know much about the inner workings of Mattel, but I used to be a Huge fan of Mega Bloks/Mega Construx. Used to they had an entire isle in TRU, a large section at every retailer. After Mattel aquired them they ran the company into the fucking ground and are a shadow of their former self. It was a trainwreck.

And this is why so many people aren’t willing to break their back for anyone anymore. In the end, you are just expendable. You will never not be expendable, you will never not been see as a replacable. So why care?

Years of loyalty and hard work can be thrown away in an instant by someone who doesn’t care about all your hard work.

A lot of Chris bashing. But I think there was an honest attempt to keep John on after the Power Rangers brand imploded. When shareholders and investors demand a higher value on their investment, his was a position that simply didn't NEED to exist. It sucks, for sure. But Hasbro could have just as easily let him go after Power Rangers and didn't.

First he gets booted from Transformers to try and save the sinking ship that was Power Rangers, then brought back to Transformers, only to be booted completely out of the company before he could really do anything for the brand. Geez.

The corporate world loves to chew up creatives and spit them out.

This is what I've been saying from the beginning of this thread. There are no "rules", there is no grace. If these companies need to save money on their earnings report, they go after middle-management where they see expendable people making decent money.

This type of decision is also not just a CEO decision. This is a board directive, and upper management of each division would have been tasked with identifying redundancies. Cocks probably just took a list and signed off on it.
